On October 5, 2014, the 20th anniversary of the Memorial Passages was celebrated in Portbou, with the presence of Dani Karavan, promoted by the Association Passatges de Cultura ContemporÓnia, with the collaboration of the Diputaciˇ de Girona, Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava , Portbou Town Hall and Generalitat de Catalunya. For this reason, the Portbou City Council granted the name of Dani Karavan to the port of Portbou promenade in recognition and thanks to the work that has permanently left the people, a testimony of unique collective symbolic values ??in the world that have contributed to make Portbou a unique place at the international level. Likewise, and at the proposal of the City Council of Portbou, the procedures have begun so that the Memorial Passages be declared a National Good of Cultural Interest, because it is a real estate property of architecture and sculpture of historical interest, artistic and social; to be a symbol of culture and peace, to make reference to the philosophy of the history of Walter Benjamin, for his incomparable human and symbolic values; due to its urban location in symbiosis with the construction of the cemetery of Portbou, which has contributed to reinforcing the image of the portbouenc landscape and its identity.
